Police have arrested a man on drug charges after finding marijuana packed inside candy in his Newark, Del. apartment.

Authorities were in the Hunters Crossing Apartments on Tuesday night checking on parolees.

During the check, they detected a strong smell of marijuana coming from an unrelated apartment.

Shortly after, police say two people left the apartment with a strong odor of marijuana coming from them.

Police knocked on the door and say they got permission to enter. Once inside, officers say they saw marijuana in plain view.

A search of the home turned up more than six pounds of marijuana, with nearly five pounds packed inside candy.

Apparently, police said, users suck on the candy to get high.

The man renting the apartment, 23-year-old Alex Osgood, was arrested.

He was sent to prison for lack of $6,000 secured bail.
