Delaware State Police say a 58-year-old Georgetown man died after his car struck a Ford Explorer at the intersection of Redden and Chaplin's Chapel roads about 4:15 p.m. Sunday. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Police say the accident happened when the driver of the Ford Explorer failed to stop at a sign at the intersection.
Authorities say a good Samaritan began pulling victims from the burning vehicles.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and a man and woman were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
The driver of the Ford Explorer suffered a lacerated liver and broken back. Her young son suffered a head and arm injury, and her infant daughter suffered minor injuries.
