Man shot in the head in South Philadelphia

Philadelphia police are investigating a murder in south Philadelphia.

It was around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday when authorities were called out to the 2300 block of Fernon St. where they found a man shot in the head.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:53 a.m.

There is no word on the victim's identity, but police said they believe he's between 18 and 25 years old.

Police say they have no word on a motive or suspects.
