The fire was reported around 12:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Pinetown Road in Fort Washington.
The fire began in the basement and spread to the attic before fire crews were able to get the upper hand.
One person was home at the time but escaped without injury.
So far, there is no word on what sparked the blaze, but investigators say it appears to have been accidental.
