Llamas aren't birds

No, llama mamas don't lay eggs.

Georgia llama breeder Kathy Devaul says people often confuse llamas with emus, the big ostrich-like birds.

She says she's often asked, what color are llama eggs?

Llamas are, of course, mammals and give birth to little, live llamas.

She tells The Albany Herald that llamas make good pets.

But you'll probably need more than one.

She adds llamas are herd animals and are happiest when they're together.
