2-alarm blaze hits old restaurant

Chopper 6 HD captured video of flames leaping through the roof of the old Chi Chi's restaurant in Franklin Mills Circle in Northeast Philadelphia.

A vacant restaurant burned Monday night and Philadelphia firefighters.

Flames were reported around 6 p.m. at the former Chi Chi's at Franklin Mills Circle.

When firefighters arrived, they sounded a second alarm.

The view from Chopper 6 HD showed flames leaping out of the roof of the building just before 6:30 p.m. and firefighters had the fire under control by 7 p.m.

The Chi Chi's restaurant is vacant. There are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
