Police: Del. man took son, 3, on drug buy

NEWARK, Del. - January 27, 2011

Mark Cool, 29, of the unit block of Sheldrake Road in the Sherwood Forest community, is charged with drug and traffic offenses.

Police say they learned Cool was making drug deliveries from his residence around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

When officers arrived at his home, they reportedly saw Cool get into his vehicle with the child and drive away.

When a computer check revealed Cool had a suspended license, police pulled him over.

During the stop, police say they saw a baggie that contained a white powdery substance on the floor in front of Cool's six year old son.

Further investigation revealed that the substance located in the vehicle was flour, and Cool intended to sell the flour as cocaine.

Cool was then taken into custody without incident.

Cool was charged with possession with intent to deliver a counterfeit controlled substance, driving with a suspended license and unlawfully dealing with a child.

He was arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute after failing to post $10,550 cash bail and was ordered to have no contact with his son.
