Thirty-seven-year-old Tania Pearson is being held on $500 secured bail.
Police say about 7 p.m. on Thursday, a relative took Pearson's 2-year-old child to his home, saw a change in the toddler's appearance and took the child back to Pearson's home, where another relative called 911.
Police say the child tested positive for benzodiazepine. Police say Pearson said she drank alcohol with her medication and the child may have taken the medication from her purse.
