At 6:09 a.m., Towamencin Township police responded to the report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on Forty Foot Road between Detweiler Road and Towamencin Avenue.
Police were unable to locate the striking vehicle at the scene of the crash.
The female victim was transported to Abington Hospital Trauma Center for treatment and is listed in critical condition.
The investigation has revealed that a blue/green in color vehicle with front headlight damage may have been involved in the crash when the driver was proceeding south on Forty Foot Road approaching Towamencin Avenue.
The Towamencin Township Police Department and Montgomery County District Attorney's office are conducting a joint investigation into the incident and are requesting any witnesses to the crash contact the Towamencin Township Police Department at 215-368-7606 or County Detectives at 610-278-3368.
