The blaze broke out just after 12:30 on Friday morning in the first floor of a three-story structure on the 5300 block of Wayne Avenue.
While firefighters battled the flames they called on PECO crews to try to determine if the electric lines in the building were a contributing factor in the fire.
It took firefighters about 35 minutes to gain control of the blaze.
There are no reports of injuries.
Investigators are looking for the cause.
