Police say the victim was shot once at about 1:00 a.m., near the intersection of Germantown Avenue and Dennie Street, in the Tioga-Nicetown section of the city.
The wounded man was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 12:59 a.m.
The identity of the victim is not yet being released.
