The discovery was made early Thursday morning at the Econo Lodge Motel along Black Horse Pike.
The victims were identified as 40-year old Tracy Marie Moody, a Pennsylvania mother of five and her infant daughter Isabella Ann Marie Moody.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel, Moody checked into the motel on July 18 and was expected to leave sometime Wednesday.
When Moody did not check out, motel management went to her room, and made the discovery of the bodies.
A preliminary autopsy from the Atlantic County Medical Examiner indicates that Moody drowned the young child, before drowning herself.
