1 dead, 1 injured in West Phila. shooting

WEST PHILADELPHIA - July 24, 2011

Police responded just after 5:00 p.m. to the 5300 block of Chestnut Street for the report of a shooting.

Officers say two 20-year-old males suffered gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was shot twice in the back and once in the left arm. He was able to walk to Mercy Hospital on his own to seek aid.

The second victim was shot twice in the chest. He was transported to the University of Pennsylvania Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting.
