Man stabbed inside National Constitution Center

PHILADELPHIA - September 25, 2011

It happened around 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Police say there was an altercation between the two men inside the kitchen.

The confrontation escalated, and a 36-year-old male stabbed the 21-year-old victim multiple times in the leg.

Before police arrived, the suspect fled the scene. Around 1:00 Sunday afternoon, he turned himself into authorities.

The victim was taken to Jefferson Hospital, where he is in stable condition.

No visitors were in the building at the time.

According to officials at the National Constitution Center, the men were contracted workers with the catering staff, not employees of the center.
