NJ toll roads install new security fence

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - September 28, 2011

The 8-foot fence posts are topped with an inverted Y to discourage someone from scaling it.

The fencing is part of a $7 million project funded by the federal Homeland Security Department.

Installation is taking place along the parkway between the Somers Point Toll Plaza and the Great Egg Harbor Bay Bridge.

Turnpike Authority spokesman Tom Feeney told The Press of Atlantic City the agency also plans to install perimeter fencing around the Mullica and Bass River bridges as part of a widening project.
