The fire broke out around 2:45 a.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of S. Alden Street.
Officials say the woman was injured after she fell while carrying a child out of the burning house. The woman was treated at the scene for some scrapes on her leg.
The child was not hurt.
Crews brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.
The cause of the fire remains unclear.
