Fire ravages home in South Jersey

Franklinville, NJ - February 4, 2012

The family managed to safely flee their Franklinville home, before flames and smoke overwhelmed the residence.

Firefighters responded to the home on the 1900 block of Williamstown Road, shortly after two o'clock Saturday morning.

When they arrived, flames and smoke was shooting from the basement and the first floor.

A lack of hydrants in the area hampered efforts to battle the blaze.

Tanker trucks hauled in water from neighboring towns, allowing firefighters to get a handle on the inferno.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
