1 dead in West Philadelphia shooting

WEST PHILADELPHIA - February 22, 2012

The incident took place shortly before 9:00 p.m. along the 6300 block of Callowhill Street.

Police say a man, believed to be in his late 20s, was shot once in the right armpit and the bullet then penetrated his chest.

He was transported by responding officers to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

At this time, there are no arrests and no weapon has been recovered.

Police say they are searching for two black males seen fleeing in a silver Ford Taurus heading westbound on Callowhill.
