Marc Cherry testified Thursday in Sheridan's wrongful termination and battery case. He reiterated that he decided to kill off her character, Edie Britt, months before their dispute.
He told jurors that he didn't attempt to influence writers and executives on the show to support his version of events. Cherry claims he tapped Sheridan on the head on Sept. 22, 2008, while discussing a scene, but the actress claims he struck her hard.
Sheridan's attorneys claim Cherry didn't decide to kill off Britt until after an investigation cleared him of wrongdoing.
