Armed man robs Wilmington convenience store

WILMINGTON, Del. - April 1, 2012

It happened shortly around 11:30 Sunday at the BP Shore Stop on Lancaster Pike in Wilmington.

Authorities say an armed man went into the store demanding money and cigarettes from an employee at the register.

The employee -a man in his 60s - complied and turned over an undisclosed amount of money and several cartons of cigarettes.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot. He's described as a Hispanic male, 25-35-years of age, approximately 6'0" tall, with an average build.

He was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball cap.
