NJ corrections officers ratify state contract

TRENTON, N.J. - May 11, 2012

The Police Benevolent Association Local 105, which represents state corrections officers, agreed to a four-year deal retroactive to July 1, 2011.

Less-experienced officers will not see a raise until July 1, 2014 - and then it will be 1 percent. The most experienced officers will get a 1.75 percent raise in July 2013 and a 1.5 percent in 2014.

Gov. Chris Christie's administration also made public terms of a tentative deal with the largest union of state government employees, the Communication Workers of America.

Workers would get 1 percent raises next year and 1.75 percent in 2014.

CWA officials could not be reached Friday.
