Phila. Police: Theft suspect asks for job

PHILADELPHIA - May 15, 2012

In a news release issued Tuesday, police said Harold Williams, 59, of the 1400 block of Mayfield Street, was arrested on the morning of April 27th.

Investigators say it all began on April 23rd when Williams allegedly entered Joe's Auto Repair at 3250 Indian Queen Lane, took a 1/2 inch impact wrench, placed it in a black bag and left.

Four days later, Williams allegedly returned to Joe's Auto to ask for work. A person at the shop recognized him and told him to start sweeping the front of the shop.

As Williams started to sweep, the auto shop worker called police. Officers soon arrived and took Williams into custody.

Williams is charged with theft and related offenses.
