Church youth mentor charged with sex assault

BARRINGTON, N.J. - June 10, 2012

23-year-old Samuel Bangs of Bellmawr was arrested Saturday and charged with Sexual Assault, Endangering the Welfare of a Minor and two counts of criminal sexual contact.

Bangs is accused of engaging in illegal sexual conduct with at various locations, including public parks, over the past two months.

Bangs, officials say, met the child while volunteering as a youth mentor at Grace Bible Church in Barrington.

At the time of the alleged incidents, Bangs was no longer a mentor to the victim.

The boy reported the incidents to police Friday.
