Boil water advisory lifted in Camden

Camden officials have lifted the boil water advisory for area residents serviced by United Water.

The water pressure and other levels have been stabilized and water test samples determined the water is safe for drinking.

The mandatory water use restriction for non-essential water use has also been rescinded.

Officials determined that a water main break was the main cause of the problem, however, the unauthorized use of fire hydrants contributed to the problem.

United Water recommends that residents run water faucets for 3 to 5 minutes to flush plumbing, empty and clean automatic ice makers and water chiller, and drain hot water heaters if the temperature is set below 113 degrees.
