It happened around 4:50 Saturday morning at the intersection of Tabor Road and Garland Street.
Authorities say when the two cars collided, the force of the crash knocked over a nearby traffic light.
A 19-year-old male was pinned inside one of the vehicles and rescue crews had to free him using the Jaws of Life.
He was taken to an area hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police are still unsure what sparked the crash.
