Philadelphia officials are offering up to $15,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect in a brutal robbery that left a woman needing 100 stitches in her face.
Police say the robbery happened at 4:05 a.m. on November 11th in the 700 block of South 9th Street in South Philadelphia.
Police say the suspect approached the victim from behind and struck her in the face with an unknown object, causing a large cut.
The suspect then grabbed the woman's purse and fled north on 9th Street, then east on Fitzwater Street. The purse was later found in a small alley at 800 Kenilworth Street.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male with a thin build wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with an emblem on the left side of the hood, black pants and dark-colored shoes.
The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police is offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. The City of Philadelphia is offering a reward of $5,000, and the Citizens Crime Commission is administering $2,500 for the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
