Vans carrying 4 adults, 2 children collide in Delaware

Delaware State Police are investigating an accident involving two vans in New Castle.

It happened at 2:00 p.m. Thursday on eastbound Route 40 near the Glendale Plaza Shopping Center.

Police and six ambulances converged on the scene.

Six people were taken to Christiana Hospital to be checked out: three adults, a six-year-old and a four-year-old from one van and one adult from the other.

Action News is told all appeared alert and oriented. There has been no word on the extent of injuries.

Route 40 East was closed as crews worked to clear the scene.
