It happened in the 500 block of Red Oak Drive in Odessa, New Castle County around 4:00 a.m.
The woman was taken to Christiana Hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say police had been called to that location many times for domestic-related incidents.
The shooting remains under investigation.
