Officials at the Oregon Zoo say Packy is thought to be the oldest male Asian elephant in North America.
Packy got a special birthday cake -- made from apples, carrots and celery.
But not everyone is celebrating.
KOIN reports demonstrators outside the zoo called for Packy to be retired to a sanctuary.
Zoo officials counter they're working on a much larger enclosure for Packy and his elephant buddies.
