County official bitten on hand at restaurant

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - April 19, 2013

Wilmington police spokesman Mark Ivey tells The News Journal of Wilmington that David Grimaldi was bitten on the hand during the scuffle Saturday night and is considered the victim.

Ivey says Grimaldi and the owner of the restaurant declined to press charges against Charles Arcaro, who bit the county official. Grimaldi and Arcaro were at a table at the Pastabilities restaurant with another man.

After the fight, Grimaldi called New Castle County Police Chief Elmer Setting, who responded to the scene even though Wilmington police had jurisdiction. Grimaldi tells The News Journal that he called Setting for advice and that the chief did not exercise any influence.
