Expert: Christie revenue projections off by nearly $1B

TRENTON, N.J. - May 20, 2013

David Rosen and Treasurer Andrew Eristoff are scheduled to present updated financial forecasts to legislators on Monday and Tuesday.

The legislative analyst and the administration expert usually disagree. Eristoff has not made his revised forecast public.

An email to lawmakers obtained by The Associated Press shows Rosen projects $444 million less revenue for the fiscal year ending June 30 and $492 million less for the fiscal year starting July 1 than Christie anticipated in February.

Both forecasts include revenues from taxes due April 15.

Christie has called Rosen "the Dr. Kevorkian of the numbers," but his forecasts have been more accurate than the administration suggests.
