Man found fatally shot in back seat of car in Stafford

STAFFORD, TX

As police spent hours searching a house in the 12000 block of Glen Meadow Drive, some neighbors discreetly look on, learning investigators have now charged 18-year-old Tiraye Robinson in the shooting death of his 18-year-old friend, Andrew Nwokobia.

"It's pretty shocking to hear it happening right here in our neighborhood because I always thought of it as a pretty safe area, and I haven't really seen any crime happening around," said neighbor Amanda Waite.

Police say the shooting investigation all started when a wrecker drove up to a Cadillac a few blocks away on Sugar Grove just before 3am Friday.

That wrecker driver tells Eyewitness News he pulled the Cadillac over because it was smoking. He says the driver of the Cadillac, who's now been identified as Robinson, told him, "I had big problems. My homeboy's been shot."

The eyewitness says he saw the victim's body in the car's back seat and immediately called police.

Neighbors too worried to show their faces on camera say they're shocked but not surprised the shooting investigation led police to the house on Glen Meadow Drive. They say there have been problems at the home before, including rowdy parties and an alleged shootout that got police attention.

As detectives collect evidence to better determine exactly what lead up to the shooting, they say it appears Nwokobia was shot in the face. Robinson's now in jail on manslaughter charges.

Right now detectives are asking anyone with additional information about the shooting to call Stafford police.
