A teen driver struck and killed a 61-year-old man in North Philadelphia, police say.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A teen driver struck and killed a 61-year-old man while he was walking his bike across the street in North Philadelphia, police say.

It happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday at North Broad Street and Susquehanna Avenue.

Police say the impact threw the victim 200 feet causing severe head trauma.

The 18-year-old driver stopped about a block away.

Police say the teen is cooperating.

Police believe speed played a factor.
