PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- In the high-stakes presidential match-up between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, results have been projected in several of the key swing states, and Trump has secured enough Electoral College votes to appear on track for a second presidency.

Beyond the presidential race, also voters hit the polls in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware on Tuesday and cast ballots to decide who controls not only the White House, but also Congress, state and local governments.

Judge denies request to extend voting hours in Northampton County, Pa.

A judge has denied a request by Democrats to extend voting hours in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

The request came amid long lines at Lehigh University.

Scott Hough, the vice chair of the Northampton County Election Commission, confirms to ABC News that voters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania - near Lehigh University - are waiting in line for as long as seven hours to cast their ballots.

Hough said it is due to a broken voting machine in one precinct. The local fire department recently did a safety check for individuals in line.

Polls close in Pennsylvania at 8 p.m.
