PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The family of a fallen Temple police officer had to be escorted away from a memorial site in North Philadelphia after two teenagers were shot just blocks away.

According to police, the shooting happened just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near Uber Street and Montgomery Avenue in North Philadelphia.

"That's where we found seven spent shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.

New details were released Tuesday in the killing of a Temple University police officer on Saturday night in North Philadelphia.

Surveillance video captured the horrified reactions.

Authorities said at least one witness told them it was a drive-by shooting.

"A gray vehicle was traveling east on Montgomery when someone fired shots out of the front door passenger side window," said Small.

Police are unsure if either teen was targeted.

The 6abc Data Journalism Team team found since the beginning of this school year, 112 children between the age of 5 and 18 have been shot in Philadelphia, and 14 of them died.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting but police are looking for a gray sedan. Authorities say both men inside were wearing dark-colored clothing and had masks covering their faces.

The shooting happened as the family of Ofc. Fitzgerald was gathered at a memorial.

At first, there was confusion, then police escorted the entire family away.
