Pa. boy court-bound for killing dad's fiancee

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (AP) - March 24, 2009

Prosecutors say /*Jordan Brown*/ shot 26-year-old /*Kenzie Marie Houk*/ in the back of the head while she slept in their Wampum farmhouse about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh on Feb. 20. Houk's unborn son also died.

The hearing is Tuesday afternoon at Lawrence County courthouse. Brown is charged as an adult with homicide.

Brown's attorney wants the case moved to juvenile court. If convicted as an adult, Brown would face life in prison.

Authorities say Brown went downstairs with two guns but returned upstairs after Houk's daughter saw him. They believe Brown then hid a gun in a blanket and went back downstairs to shoot Houk.
