The Oregon couple has spent years developing what they call a worm reactor.
It's a giant, automated compost box.
Chopped food waste goes in and fertilizer comes out.
Red wiggler worms do all the work in between.
The couple says a large scale worm reactor could consume up to eight tons of trash a day.
They tell the Salem Statesman Journal they would like to setup a demonstration worm project at the Corvallis airport.
