'Hipster grifter' appears in Utah court

SALT LAKE CITY - June 3, 2009 /*Kari Ferrell*/, 22, who was dubbed the "/*hipster grifter*/" on the Internet, was arrested last month in Philadelphia.

She is charged with two counts of forgery.

Before surrendering to Philadelphia police, Ferrell posted an apology on a New York City Web site saying she had "made some pretty terrible decisions" and was "taking care of things."

On Tuesday Ferrell appeared in 3rd District Court via camera from the Salt Lake County jail.

She is due in court again on June 11. It was unclear from court records whether she yet had an attorney.
