Starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, local IKEA stores are holding what they're calling BYOF (Bring Your Own Friends) Day.
Luz Morales of IKEA explains, "Basically, throughout the stores, we'll be offering free chair massages, personalized interior design advice, yummy food sampling, and a chance to win a $200 Ikea gift card. Throughout the day, five lucky winners will win."
At the South Philadelphia store, the focus will be on organizing the living room and the bedroom. There will be seminars and special discounts on items like closet systems.
Morales adds, "At the ikea Conshohocken store, we'll be presenting Cooking Light Magazine's Executive Chef Billy Strynkowksi, who will be presenting Recipes for Living Well. Those recipes for Living Well will include his latest cooking techniques, and also organizing tips for the kitchen."Both stores will offer all sorts of free food samples. And people who are Ikea fans on Facebook can get entire meals on the house.
And there are additional deals for people who "Like" IKEA on Facebook."if you're an IKEA fan on Facebook, and RSVP for our BYOF event, you'll receive a voucher for a free meal of eggs, potatoes and bacon, that you can receive before 11:00 a.m. in our IKEA restaurant," Morales adds. "And for those that want to sleep in a little, that's OK, because we will offer a voucher for a Buy One, Get One Free lunch entree for those who want to come with a friend later on."
