Black ice is being blamed for a car crash in Moorestown, New Jersey, that has critically injured the driver.

Police say around 4:45 Wednesday morning the car hit a patch of ice just off Centerton Morrestown Road near Creek Road.

The driver has been taken to the hospital where he is in critical condition.

Police say that at the time of the crash, much of the road where the accident happened was covered with a thin sheet of almost invisible ice.
