Gaining weight in the wallet

A suburban New York woman is 21 pounds skinnier. And her wallet is $680 fatter.

Debbie McGee has won a three-month weight loss contest at the Rockland County cardiology office where she works.

The 39-year-old is one of 17 employees at Hudson Heart Associates in Airmont who took part in their own version of the TV show "The Biggest Loser."

The secretaries, medical records clerks and receptionists each put $20 into a pot. The office's doctors matched that total.

The employees were weighed weekly and met with a nurse to discuss nutrition. But only seven of them finished the contest, which ended a few days ago.

McGee says the key for her was exercise. The 5-foot-6-inch receptionist now weighs 167 pounds.

She says she'll use her winnings to fix her car and pay for dental work.
