Police: Teen wrestled teacher surrenders

Police in suburban Philadelphia say a teen who wrestled with teachers over a loaded gun found in his locker surrendered after a week. School officials say two teachers violated district policy when they accompanied the 17-year-old to the locker in search of the gun.

Norristown Area School District Superintendent Janet Samuels says the teachers were well-intentioned, but risked getting shot. She's not saying if they've been reprimanded.

One of the two male teachers who intervened gained control of the gun and chased the student when he fled.

The student, whose name is not being disclosed, is charged with aggravated assault and a firearms offense.
