Police: Teen wrestled teacher surrenders
NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) - April 12, 2008 School officials say two teachers violated district policy when
they accompanied the 17-year-old to the locker in search of the
gun.
Norristown Area School District Superintendent Janet Samuels
says the teachers were well-intentioned, but risked getting shot.
She's not saying if they've been reprimanded.
One of the two male teachers who intervened gained control of
the gun and chased the student when he fled.
The student, whose name is not being disclosed, is charged with
aggravated assault and a firearms offense.
