A man who threw a chunk of ice off a Lehigh County overpass as a teenager, killing a woman in a van, has been released from a juvenile facility. Dennis Gumbs turned 21 on Tuesday, meaning he's no longer under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court system.

Gumbs was 15 when he hurled the ice onto Route 22 in Whitehall Township.

The missile crashed through the windshield and killed 33-year-old Elaine Cowell, a Berks County mother of three who was returning from a ski trip with her family.

Gumbs was tried as a youth and found delinquent of third-degree murder.
