The Murder of Edward Dees Jr.

North Philadelphia - May 2, 2008

"He had the mouth and everything. The gift of gab," said Cheryl Geiger.

On Saturday, May 22nd, 2004, Eddie and his friends went out for the night in the area of the 43-hundred block of Clarissa Street in North Philadelphia.

Just after two the next morning, in a crowd of people, Eddie was killed.

"Someone called his name to talk to him and that was it."

His mother said Eddie left his friends to find the person who called for him, and he was shot four times.

That same day, Eddie's girlfriend found out she was pregnant, but never got the chance to tell him.

"He won't be able to see his son. He won't be able to help raise him," Cheryl said.

So far, witnesses to the shooting haven't been able to provide police with any leads.

"I just wish somebody would say something, you know, I just want to know why."

To help spark someone's memory, Eddie's family has put together a one-thousand dollar reward for the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Eddie's death.

"They just took away his dreams and our dreams."
