The mosquito season is picking up and with it comes the risk of West Nile Virus. The Pennsylvania Health Department said the dangerous virus is being found in a growing number of mosquitoes.

The latest positive tests came from the City of Philadelphia. Three mosquito traps in Norristown Borough, Montgomery County, and two in Radnor Township, Delaware County also tested positive for the virus.

Mosquito control programs are being stepped up in those areas.

To cut down on mosquitos around your home, remember to eliminate any standing water, such as in tires, bird baths, or gardening gear.
