Child hurt in Philadelphia fire - Philadelphia News

A fast-moving apartment fire has sent a 3-year-old to the hospital. The fire broke out just before 3:30 a.m. Thursday on the 10,000 block of Evans Street in the Somerton section of the city.

Officials say the child was trapped in a bedroom. Firefighters rescued the child and he was rushed to Frankford-Torresdale Hospital where he is being treated for smoke inhalation.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
