State police in New South Wales say they were called to a factory this morning where the 53-year-old man was stuck, apparently unable to move because of wet weather and the roof's steep pitch.
Emergency crews made a number of rescue attempts. They finally succeeded using fire truck with a tall ladder while a helicopter hovered overhead shining light on the roof.
Police arrested the man and charged him with trespassing, possession of housebreaking implements and attempted breaking-and-entering. He was carrying a helmet with a light, bolt cutters, a small ladder, backpack, tarpaulin, ropes and harnesses.
