Troopers in Camden, Kent County were made aware of the incident on November 21, after the victim told a counselor of the ongoing incident back in the summer of 2008.
According to police, the victim would stay overnight at her friend's house where Tyndall resided. Over the course of the summer Tyndall allegedly assaulted the victim while she was sleeping.
Troopers launched an investigation and obtained a warrant for 12 counts of unlawful sexual contact.
He was charged on December 5 and committed to the Department of Correction in default of $28,000 bail.
