It happened on 21st Street between Lippincott and Clearfield streets around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police say a driver lost control of a car and slammed into a warehouse wall.
The driver was trapped inside the mangled metal for 10 minutes and had to be cut out of the wreckage.
He is in critical condition.
A passenger broke both legs.
There is no word yet on what led to this crash.
