Five people rescued from Upper Darby fire

Five people were rescued from a two-alarm house fire in Upper Darby.

The flames broke out around 2:45 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of Bayard Street.

Arriving firefighters say they saw heaving smoke pouring out of the house.

They could also see some occupants of the home hanging out of the windows.

Everyone was rescued and were treated for smoke inhalation.

There is no word yet on what sparked this fire.
